Privacy Policy for the LSA Survey Camera App
Last Updated: 10 February 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how LiDAR Solutions Australia (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information through our internal field operations mobile application, the “LSA Survey Camera” app (“the App”). The App is developed strictly for internal use by our employees and contractors to facilitate project documentation.
By using the LSA Survey Camera app, you acknowledge and consent to the data practices described in this policy. This policy aligns with Google Play’s developer policies and Android’s privacy best practices.
2. Data Collection and Purpose
The LSA Survey Camera app requires specific permissions to function for its core purpose of photo-based project documentation. All data collected is used solely for internal operational management.
| Data Type | Permission Required | Purpose of Collection & Use |
|---|---|---|
| Photos & Videos | Camera, Photos & Videos | To capture images of project sites and assets. This is the LSA Survey Camera app’s core functionality. |
| File Storage | Files & Media | To save, rename, and organize captured photos locally on your device. |
| Location Data | Location (Precise) | To automatically tag photos with geographic coordinates for accurate project and asset mapping. |
No other personal data (e.g., name, contact info) is collected by the LSA Survey Camera app itself. The App does not access your device’s contacts, messages, or other personal media libraries.
3. Data Storage and Security
Local-Only Storage: All photos taken with the LSA Survey Camera app are stored exclusively on the internal storage of your company-issued or designated mobile device. They are not uploaded or synced to any cloud server, company network, or third-party service.
Security: The security of the stored photos depends on the built-in security features of your Android device (e.g., device passcode, encryption). We recommend you keep your device’s operating system updated and use a secure screen lock.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share, sell, or transmit the photos or location data collected by the LSA Survey Camera app to any third parties, affiliates, or external services. The data remains locally on your device for your operational use.
Data may only be disclosed if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of the Company and its personnel.
5. User Controls and Your Rights
You maintain control over the App’s access to your device:
Managing Permissions: You can grant, deny, or modify the LSA Survey Camera app’s permissions (Camera, Location, Storage) at any time through your device’s Settings > Apps menu.
Impact of Denial: Denying camera or storage permissions will prevent the LSA Survey Camera app from functioning. Denying location access will disable geotagging features.
Data Deletion: To delete photos taken by the LSA Survey Camera app, you must manually delete the files from your device’s storage using your device’s file manager or gallery app. The App does not have a remote data deletion function as data is not held centrally.
6. Policy on Broad Photo Access
The LSA Survey Camera app requires broad access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO permissions) to your device’s shared storage to function as an internal photo management and renaming tool. This qualifies as a core use case for broad access under Google Play policy. As an internal enterprise application for device management and business operations, it is also recognized under relevant policy exemptions.
7. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The “Last Updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the LSA Survey Camera app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
